The City of Irvine, in collaboration with Community Action Partnership of Orange County, is offering The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Eligible residents will receive a box of food weighing approximately 30 pounds once a month. The box contains a variety of dried beans, fresh produce, canned and frozen vegetables, fruit/vegetable juice, meat (when available), poultry, fish, nuts, milk, cheese, rice, cereal, and pasta.

On November 26, 2024, the Irvine City Council voted to approve an ordinance to establish objective design standards that apply to residential and residential mixed-use projects citywide. This ordinance introduces a new chapter within the Irvine Zoning Ordinance that outlines the purpose, applicability, and key provisions of the Objective Design Standards and incorporates an Objective Design Standards Manual by reference.
