INSURANCE
When the City requires insurance for an event or part of a contractual agreement, the City must be named as additionally insured. The City must be provided with a Certificate AND separate Endorsement page stating such agreement. Click the link before for a sample of the required documents.
Check in and follow up with the employer one to two days after submitting every job application. Your follow-up will demonstrate your enthusiasm for the job. Employers like to hire people who are excited about starting a new job at their company or organization.
Following up in person is highly beneficial for online applications. Find out who the hiring manager is and visit the location when they are available. Introduce yourself and simply inquire about the status of your application. Your goal is to get an interview.
Pre-Interview Prep
- Know the job description and what is required to perform the job.
- Study the employer website to learn company history, mission statement, values, and important initiatives.
- Prepare solid answers to the following questions:
- What do you know about our company?
- Why do you want to work here?
- Tell me about yourself.
- Know your availability, including specific days, and hours.
- Prepare at least three thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer at the conclusion of the interview.
